I don't know about you but I'm really starting to get used to this way of life, the power to balance work life & home life in sync with one another the idea of going back to a normal work routine eventually sounds strange! The only thing that's starting to make me miss work is the daily interactions face to face, the ability to leave your desk to stretch & go make a coffee, setting a proper lunch break where I would usually walk to the local park & get a bit of sunshine on my skin & when it was home time leaving work knowing I wouldn't have to deal with further questions till the following day. You got what you needed to get done & then you would leave haha simple as that.

I'm working everyday in a comfy pair of jeans, my desk is close to the fridge so I've become more of a tea person lately. I could be in the middle of a meeting & I've got a load of washing on, completely freeing my weekend of any domestics. We've been more thoughtful with our groceries that I even feel like my home lunches are way healthier! Support for the local community has sky rocketed & were finally thinking more about whats around us. We've definitely been gifted a few things during a testing time & the biggest thing is; PERSPECTIVE.

We've got more time on our hands to spend it with the people that we care about, in Australia we would usually pride ourselves on being able to "work to live" but I feel like before all this we were sliding into a world that stunted any form of change or possibility as we trudged along at this same speed of normality. We've now all discovered that there are jobs that could easily be set up at home & flexible hours if companies really took the time to feel what was best they would realise that implementing some of these resources in the future, then employees would be more productive going forward.

Naturally I see why companies wouldn't have thought to bring it about, as many companies are realising the loop holes that some staff have pursued regarding adapting to working from home. The fact that some employees still now are struggling to get their full role at home or have become unreachable to others, should mean that they are not fit to do so. Full stop. We are lucky that some roles can be done from home, but we have to value the many jobs that unfortunately don't have that luxury & others who are on the frontline who quite frankly never had a choice to begin with. So if you are at home, Stay Home, stop the spread & DO YOUR BIT.

Another week down & this week I've been going back to a few classics; Paul Kelly, Courtney Barnett, Fleetwood Mac, Bloc Party & Julia Jacklin. I managed a quick jaunt to the shops a few weeks & got myself the full collection of The Chats. So it's been fun jumping around the house to their short fast heavy songs. Not one track on their albums go over 4minutes!

This week I'm sharing another song that has been getting me through isolation, honestly you are going to love it!

Spacey Jane are an Indie Alternative Rock band from Fremantle, Western Australia. Skin is the first single tease off their debut album Sunlight which won't be released till early June later this year. The four piece band consists of Caleb Harper, Kieran Lama, Ashton Hardman Le Cornu & Peppa Lane.

Honestly the twang of the vocals & the guitar in Skin, it's a total chill track that seriously transports you to another place. When I listen to Spacey Jane, I get a bit of a Real Estate, Bombay Bicycle Club, Dick Diver & Sparkadia vibe.

Spacey Jane first started out in 2016, & they released their first EP "No Way To Treat An Animal" in 2017, following through with EP "In The Sight" in 2018. They grew more to fame when their first single "Good For You" made it to the Triple J Hottest 100 in 2019.

Since then they have played at quite a few credible Australian music Festivals such as Splendour in The Grass, Yours and Owls & Laneway Festival. All I know is that when gigs & music festivals will be allowed again I'll definitely be looking out for a hopeful debut album tour later this year!

Hope you all loved this track as much as I did, & hope that you all have a great rest of your week! I'd love to hear what songs or artists have been getting you through isolation, maybe your song might even been shared!

Cheers

Amy
