You and I - CARIBOU

That's another week that were closer to Christmas! I'm starting to feel just a bit more organised & that little bit extra festive. I could even say confidently that I'm more on top of my wrapping/gift buying compared to last year! Even last week Simon & I found some time to watch the first Christmas movie off the Christmas countdown list & settle in with an egg nog & whiskey. We watched Will Ferrell's ELF & I seriously couldn't stop laughing throughout the whole thing! Can't wait to tuck into some other Christmas movie classics!

End of last week I also found out some lovely news, my other friend who was due to have a baby closer to Christmas Day had her baby just under two weeks early! So now we have another little baby boy to dote over for Christmas. It's always an exciting time of year as we're reminded about family & making lovely memories. There's a buzz in the air, as it's a time of giving & not always receiving. Everyone takes the time out of their busy lives to spend Christmas together as one big family <3

As we edge that bit closer to Christmas Day we have also entered the acceptable time period to play Christmas Carols. So I've been spinning the classics of Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Dean Martin & Bing Crosby to name a few! So in the next couple of weeks I'll be sharing one of my Christmas favourites!

For now I want to share my current favourite track which literally only dropped 5 days ago! Hope you love it as much as I do!

CARIBOU has in the past featured on Play it Forward >> as I'm a huge fan of his tracks "Can't Do Without You" & "Your Love Will Set You Free". You and I is practically the second track in 5 years that CARIBOU has shared (which only dropped 5 days ago) which came as a lovely surprise as his official first track for 2019 Home was only released beginning of October so it's very exciting to not just have one new CARIBOU song but TWO!!

CARIBOU is Canadian composer Dan Snaith & as an artist he falls under very many musical identities such as Manitoba & Daphni.

Listening to You and I I distinctly remember that from first listen, I knew straight away that this was CARIBOU. There's something about the soft spoken voice tracks & the gentle synths.

With You and I especially there are so many layers to this track, & as the song progresses there is so much more personality to it. You just don't want it to end!

With now a release of a second single, it's definitely got me thinking there may even be a new CARIBOU album incoming for the New Year!

Hope you like the track as much as I do! & have a fabulous week ahead full of good music!

Cheers

Amy
