Another week closer to Christmas & another week closer to wrapping up at my work. In about two weeks time I'll be off to Melbourne & then the week after I'll be flying to Scotland! Which means in about a months time today we will be on our way overseas!
I'm already starting to feel excited about it, especially now that my best friends wedding has been celebrated. It was such a lovely day for them both & I'm just so glad that they both had the best day! Everything ran smoothly & the weather was just amazing!
This past week I've just been listening to Paul Kelly, Meg Mac & Gang of Youths. I've also had Dad lend me a CD "The Best of The Smiths" so I'm still yet to give that a spin. Other than that I've been listening to my usual playlist & getting together all the songs I want to take with me along on my trip. Ensuring that everything is synced & ready! Hoping to find myself some good CDs whilst I'm away as well or even take note of artists that are becoming popular in the UK & parts of Europe lately!
I also heard the greatest news at the beginning of this week! Triple J radio have finally listened to the Australian public & they have changed the Hottest 100 countdown date (woo!) It will now no longer be on January 26 Australia Day but will be moved to the weekend of the 27th & 28th January. Which I just think is such fantastic news & great leadership towards respecting our Indigenous heritage. Maybe one day our country will change the date completely to include all kinds of Australians!
Last night there was also the ARIA awards & not to be too surprised but both Gang of Youths & Paul Kelly dominated the awards completely! Check out the winners below:
Breakthrough Artist, Best Pop Release - WINNER: Amy Shark - Night Thinker
Best Australian Live Act - WINNER: Illy
Best Male Artist, Best Adult Contemporary Album, - WINNER: Paul Kelly - Life is Fine
Best Group, Album of the Year, Best Rock Album - WINNER: Gang of Youths "Go Farther in Lightness"

This week's track is fast beginning a favourite of mine, its been stuck in my head on & off for the past couple of weeks & soon enough its going to be your jam too! Wrap your eyes & ears around it below:
"Life Goes On" is fast becoming my jam, its just super catchy! Would you believe it but E^st is only nineteen & this singer songwriter from the Central Coast, NSW has released her fourth track following three successful EPs "Old Age" (2014), "The Alley" (2015) & "Get Money" (2016) which featured rising Brisbane MC Mallrat.
Her first EP "Old Age" was the track from on her Triple J Unearthed page that scored her a deal with Warner at the age of 16. Since then she has been working with Jim Elliot (Ellie Goulding & Fleet Foxes collaborator).
What I just love about this track is just how simple & haunting the lyrics are. It's dancey but in all the right places & could be directed to anybody whatever time of their life they are in. Most people seem to be tying it to a break up, but really you could look at this song as reflecting on life itself. She's also got some sick dance moves, that also get you swaying along to the song.
"Life Goes On" is E^st first single for 2017 & I believe the crowd are hoping that soon enough an album will be hitting the shelves!
Hope you like the track as much as I do, & hope you all have an amazing week!
Cheers
Amy
