After many many weeks of waiting I am finally the bearer of GREAT NEWS, at the end of this year I will be graduating from University! Literally a few hours after last weeks post the glorious email came through confirming that I had passed my final exam & was eligible to graduate. The many minutes that followed after receiving the email consisted of me wolf whistling & jumping up & down from my desk, which then caused the level of my office to join me in cheering & celebrating. It's just such a big relief off my shoulders & finally I can start looking ahead in my life with greater positivity. The champagne was popped & basically now up until December I'll be celebrating & saving for Graduation.
Tonight it is also finally the first time in 7 years that I'll be seeing Angus & Julia Stone live at the Enmore Theatre. Missing them at Splendour in the Grass in 2010 due to clashing timetables I'm delighted that I finally get to see them after all this time! Part of their tour they are also releasing their latest & long overdue album "Snow" this month so I'm looking forward to listening to what new tracks will be on that album (Next week I will have a full live review of the gig!) As for new music lately it's actually been a while since I've hit the shops for CDs but my wish list is starting to grow again, so I will be making a visit to the shops soon! Lately I've been listening a lot to The Killers, Gang of Youths, Julia Jacklin, Franz Ferdinand, Little Red, Evermore & a few more artists off my original playlist & Dad has also given me a few older CDs in his collection to have a listen through as well.
This week's track is tied into the super lovely duo I'll be seeing tonight ANGUS & JULIA STONE. This track is my ultimate favourite so I invite you to please wrap your ears, eyes & heart around it below:
Angus & Julia Stone are an Australian folk & indie duo, that were formed in 2006. The duo are brother & sister & between the two of them have released almost four studio albums. The albums are "A Book Like This" (2007), "Down the Way" (2010) & "Angus & Julia Stone" (2014) & latest to come out "Snow" (2017). Individually they have also released two solo albums.
In terms of composing material both Angus & Julia Stone each write on their own material, then work together on the structure & harmonies of each song. "Just a Boy" is a track from their first album "A Book Like This" which has been in the music scene for 10 years now. It's got to be one of my favourite tracks off the album & I just absolutely adore it.
Hope that you all love it as much as I do & have a great week!
Cheers
Amy
