Well I didn't think I would still be at the point of saying that uni has still not got back to me yet with my results. But I am, & it feels like almost a whole semester itself before I can even think about getting those plane tickets to Melbourne booked for Graduation! Aside all that, most of this last week I've been celebrating that it's Play it Forward >> 2nd birthday, & I'm very proud/ feel wonderful that I get to share this musical celebration with all you readers! The milestone was celebrated in style with a few whiskey drys thrown in!
As a treat yo self also, I bought tickets to my one & only favourite festival Laneway through presale. There's a good few artists on there that I'm looking forward to seeing & also many I've never even listened to/heard of yet! So I've got the next few months to listen & check them all out. In even more exciting news I've got less than a week till Angus & Julia Stone at the Enmore Theatre!
This week's song is a song that has been in & out of my head for the past couple of weeks. I've been humming it, singing it & it's just got fabulous vocals! Check it out below:
Meg Mac is an Australian singer-songwriter & musician. She's signed to littleBIGMAN records in 2014 in Australia & 300 Entertainment in United States. Her career skyrocketed in 2012 when she uploaded two singles onto the Triple J Unearthed account. The second of those tracks, "Every Lie," was then put into heavy rotation on Triple J which eventually won her the Triple J Unearthed Competition in 2014.
"Ride It" is one of the tracks on her debut album "Low Blows" which was only released on 14th July this year. I might need to go to the shops & purchase this album as Meg's voice is just golden & Meg's fans have been eagerly patient for this debut album after a string of beautiful EPs over the years since her Unearthed debut/label signing. Another favourite track of mine over the years is EP "Roll Up Your Sleeves". Meg Mac always has a way of storytelling & bringing emotions to the lyrics; making her vocals very powerful.
Hope you like it as much as I do! & hope that you all have a lovely rest of the week!
Cheers
Amy
