Uninvited - Mallrat

Well I'm going to dive straight into the good news as I've finally heard from university! It's literally been 6 weeks worth of waiting patiently from my original appeal. After much consideration from the Coordinator & Board Director they've decided to consider the option of me doing a special exam (open book/over a weekend) that if passed will push my percentage up to a conceded pass meaning that I can be eligible for Graduation. As of yesterday afternoon I have been containing myself until the official email was sent & it's all now been set in stone! Couldn't be happier with the direction of the response & couldn't be hungrier enough now in determination to finish this degree once & for all! YAY!

Lots of other good news this week as well & so many musical announcements! First lets start off with Falls Festival whose lineup literally dropped this morning. In no particular order here is a good few artists that will be bringing Aussies into the New Year; Flume, Fleet Foxes, Run The Jewels, Glass Animals, Liam Gallagher, Foster The People, Angus & Julia Stone, The Smith Street Band, The Kooks, Methyl Ethel, D.D.Dumbo, Alex Lahey, Daryl Braithwaite, Julia Jacklin & Peking Duk to name a few! & yes you read right Aussie legend Daryl Braithwaite will be singing you into the New Year most likely singing HORSES cause that's the way its gonna be little darling!

In the past week also there has been lineup drops for Festival of the Sun, Beyond the Valley, Fairgrounds Festival & Lost Paradise to name a few. Bringing a plethora of international artists & National artists onto Australian shores. Paul Kelly has also announced "Life is Fine" National tour later this year with Middle Kids, Steve Earle, Busby Marou, The Eastern & Sahara Beck joining him on legs across the country & after Paul Kelly scored his first #1 album last week in his musical career he will definately not be an artist to miss!

I've also read that Australian legend John Farnham will be joining up with Daryl Braithwaite on a National tour in December part of the Red Hot Summer Crew joining Baby Animals, The Angels, The Screaming Jets & Suzi Quatro. So many events to choose from so make sure you keep your eye out for ticket dates & be quick!

This week's track is another hidden gem that was released at the beginning of this month! & has been a track I've had on rotation for the past few weeks. Wrap your eyes & ears around it below:

Mallrat is a Brisbane-based teenager whose originally been snapped up by Triple J unearthed for her knack for creating outrageously catchy pop tunes. She sings, she raps, she makes everybody dance & you can easily see why with her latest track "Uninvited". This girl is clearly going places & is an Australian artist you need to watch out for!

Hope you all have a fabulous week, cause I know I'll be celebrating!

Cheers

Amy
