Don't Look Back In Anger - Oasis

The countdown is definately on with under two weeks left of my studies to go! This also means that my cousin & her boyfriend from Scotland will be visiting Australia in about two weeks as well! My boyfriend comes back from his travels around South East Asia before the end of this week & my parents get back next week from their massive European cruise holiday after 2 months roaming around. Time flies!

It's been challenging at times, but I've managed to juggle everything with a positive mindset & it's actually getting quite exciting now just how close to the finish line I am. Doesn't sound long to go at all, so the next few weeks I'll be working my hardest! Between study this past week I've been listening a lot to Gang of Youths, Holy Holy, Horrorshow, Matt Corby, Expatriate, Madeon & John Legend. Just mainly a lot of my personal playlist.

With having the house to myself the past few months as well as juggling all the stress of uni & life, what I've really enjoyed lately is coming home from work & putting on a CD from my collection whilst I cook. Very therapeutic.

Music has just got a special way of healing, a way of making us feel safe. It's like a big warm hug in the dark times & always holds an essence of reassurance. It warms the cockles of our hearts, sometimes with just sound itself but mainly with lyrics that we can wear on our sleeves. There's a lot of things happening around the world causing chaos in attempt to tear apart humanity, but the one thing that unites us together is love & music is a love language we can all understand.

This week I share an all time favourite ballad of mine, wrap your eyes & ears around it below:

This song to me is timeless & will always be a favourite song of mine from English rock band Oasis. "Don't Look Back in Anger" was released on 19th February,1996 as the fourth single from their second studio album "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?" & one of my all favourite albums from Oasis. This song was actually written by the band's guitarist & main songwriter, Noel Gallagher.

So I'll start a revolution from my bed Cause you said the brains I had went to my head Step outside, summertime's in bloom Stand up beside the fireplace Take that look from off your face You ain't ever gonna burn my heart out

And so, Sally can wait She knows it's too late as we're walking on by Her soul slides away But don't look back in anger I heard you say

I'm sure like me, you were just bellowing those lyrics out to a pretend crowd & waving your hands in the air. A few of my favourite songs from Oasis are; "Champagne Supernova", "Roll With It", "She's Electric" "Hey Now!" & of course the favourite "Wonderwall".

"Don't Look Back In Anger" I've felt is always so powerful & powerful with its choice of lyrics as well. In times of trouble & darkness we need to turn away from darkness & always look back at things with no anger. Anger doesn't get us anywhere & it's nothing productive in a way to move forward to better things. Above anything, Choose LOVE.

Hope that you all have a fabulous week!

Cheers

Amy
