Same Same - Waax

So the birthday party is over & what a week it's been! I got completely & utterly spoilt by everyone near & far - thank you all so much for making my birthday so special. Due to the special birthday occasion, I put the books down & gave myself a week break from study. I also spent my Saturday night boogieing with friends into the wee hours of Sunday morning at Soda Factory; I love Soda Factory as it plays a good mix of party tracks, old & new, motown & funk. Similar to Frankie's Pizza vibe where you can just go in be yourself, have a couple of drinks & listen to quality music. It will always be a favourite place of mine so it's definately been a rocking birthday!

More good news but I'm also one more week closer to uni being over - under 3 weeks exact! (eek!) Now that the partying for my birthday is over, I can switch my focus back onto the serious stuff & then I'll face my final exam ever on the 14th June. I'm a range of emotions, but remaining positive as I know within myself I can do this & the support system around me has been just incredible.

I've been listening to a range of artists from the Killers to Julia Jacklin, Horrorshow, Jarryd James, Franz Ferdinand, The Enemy, Middle Kids & Madeon. Delving between my last CD purchases & my music playlist. I've been definately obsessing over Julia Jacklin's album lately (it's been my go to CD for when I potter around the house/ chill at home) & now I kinda wish I bought tickets & was going to her concert later this week.

This week I share a track that I've been rocking out to now for a couple of months. Put on your rock n roll boots & check it out below:

Waax are a five piece indie rock band from Brisbane. These Brisbane rockers consist of Maz (Vocals/Keys), Ewan (Guitar), Chris (Guitar/Keys), Griff (Bass) & Tom (Drums).

I heard their track "Same Same" at the end of last year & it's been part of my playlist ever since. Really rocking, great vocals & super catchy tune. Waax actually won the BIGSOUND music competition in 2014 & now currently have a new EP release before the end of next week (June 2) called "Wild & Weak".

Waax will actually be touring through NSW within the next month or two, so you can check out the dates below:

Jul 12 Beach Road Hotel Bondi NSW, Australia

Jul 13 Proud Mary's Erina, Australia

Jul 14 Brighton Up Bar Darlinghurst, Australia

Jul 15 Rad Wollongong, Australia

**If you are interested in purchasing WAAX's New EP single 'Wild & Weak' you can right here hyperurl.co/waaxwildnweak

Hope you love the track as much as I do & have a super duper week!

Cheers

Amy
