Birthday - Kings of Leon

Finally I'm over the pointy bit of uni!! That's all of my assessments all done & now I've just got my final exam mid June to worry about. I'm on a definite countdown with 4 weeks to go till it's done & dusted (Yippee!) Huge weight off the shoulders & finally I can don a party hat & have a little bit of a break.

Couldn't possibly be better timing as it's my birthday tomorrow, so I'll be looking forward to a wee glass of wine, a piece of cake & not one bit of study! Then I'll be partying it up on the weekend with a few people who mean the most to me <3

In the past week between uni stress, I was able to find some time to watch the greatest European song contest & always a favourite contest of mine to watch - EUROVISION! In the past two years Australia has been invited to compete in the contest due to the fan base growing crazily here in oz & to say on both occasions for Australia to be ranked in the top 4 & top 10 hasn't been bad at all. There was quite a number of wonderful & slightly weird songs across the European countries but the ultimate winner after all the votes was Portugal; a sweet slightly old time sounding romantic ditty that stole the hearts of Eurovision lovers worldwide. It was there first win too! You can view the winning song from PORTUGAL *you may need tissues* ---> here

As I get excited for my birthday, it seemed totally fitting that this weeks track continues the birthday vibe. So don your party hats & you can rock out to it below:

Kings of Leon is an American rock band that formed in Nashville, Tennessee in 1999. The band is composed of brothers Caleb Followill (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Nathan Followill (Drums/percussion/backing vocals) & Jared Followill (Bass guitar,/backing vocals), with their cousin Matthew Followill (lead guitar/backing vocals).

Boasting a strong blend of Southern rock & blues. 'Birthday" is a track off there album "Come Around Sundown" which was released in 2010.

I've been a fan of Kings of Leon for quite a number of years, the first track I ever heard of theirs that gave me ultimate goosebumps is "Milk". When they toured Australia in 2009, I was lucky to buy mosh tickets & at the show I managed to get 3rd row.

Hope you dig the song as much as I do & have a fabulous week. I'm off to go look for some cake!

Cheers

Amy
