It's another short week & also another week closer to my birthday! I'll admit I'm just a teensy bit excited as I love a good excuse for a knees up! Though there is always the dilemma of what to do/how to celebrate, I guess this year it's more of a dilemma as things are a little bit different this year. My family are currently travelling through Europe & now my boyfriend is travelling too both up until June. This will be the first time that even my immediate family won't be in the country to celebrate my birthday with me. Under 3 weeks to go I've only recently put an event together so at least now between uni/assessments there is something super fun to look forward to!
Compared to other semesters that I've previously mentioned this time round I've been just casually swamped by uni work (typically for my final semester ever, but crazy how this time round its only one subject to juggle!) This subjects has lots of note taking, a test & lastly a final assessment all due two days before my birthday so on a big positive at least after my assessment is handed in there will be a good excuse to party!
I didn't really think that this uni work would be as crazy as it is, so lately I've just been listening a lot to my regular playlist. I've been listening lately to music that will pump me up & motivate me such as Porter Robinson, Madeon, Julia Jacklin, Holy Holy, The Bloody Beetroots, Client Liaison, Hayden James, Above & Beyond, Chvrches & Nero. Then once uni calms down a bit I can head to the shops I get those CDs I wanted from last weeks post!
With the public holiday on today, I'm going to be super productive so it's another complete study day to get myself back on top of everything. So this week I'm going to share with you all one of my favourite classic dance tracks that always every time I listen to it puts me in a super amazing mood. Wrap your ears & eyes around it out below:
Hayden James is a singer/songwriter/producer from Sydney, Australia. Signed to the record label Future Classic (one of my faves - with other signed artists such as Flume, Touch Sensitive, Basenji, Flight Facilities, Nick Murphy to name a few) he released his first single "Permission to Love" in 2013. That same year he played at Splendour in the Grass & even toured the US with Odesza.
"Something About You" was released end of 2014 is just one of those classic dance tracks that could easily be played on loop. It's simply to me just a beautiful mix of synth & vocals. Since it's release its always been my go to cheer up track, whatever mood you are in this song can always get you to shimmy.
His latest track out is "Just a Lover" which was released beginning of last year & since then it's been quite a while since Hayden James released new music. Hopefully soon he will have some new material for us all to dance to!
Hope you love it as much as I do & have a great short week!
Cheers Amy
