Genie feat. Mayer Hawthorne - Busy P

Another gloomy week weather wise but luckily we've got music to get us through! I seriously don't remember Autumn truly feeling this weird at all! But after a jam packed weekend, if the weather is going to stay this miserable then I'd rather spend it snuggled up in bed. It's only the first week or two of the uni semester & I'm already feeling like I need a holiday! Final semester I guess will always be the toughest one to go through! At least the year is going quickly; exciting times ahead.

Well last week I finally hit the shops & bought myself a couple of CDs & I'm quite happy with my haul.

"Paint" - Holy Holy

Already in the past week I've listened to this album at least 4 times, this album is absolutely delicious. The first time I listened I was studying & the rain outside just got heavier. Throughout the album its a wonderful mix of indie, alternative rock as well as dance. Boppy in all the right places, but soothing enough you can just sit & tap the beat out on your knees.

"Bardo State" - Horrorshow

A recent album release from Horrorshow & highly anticipated fourth album from the duo. Still yet to give this album a spin, but after working through their older albums I'm excited to hear what new material they have & which direction they are planning on taking.

"Middle Kids EP" - Middle Kids

Only recently featured on Play it Forward, I have been anticipating Middle Kids official EP since they first appeared on the Conan show. They are ones to watch for 2017, with such humble tracks & indie infectiousness. Featuring my fave tracks so far "Your Love", "Edge of Town", "Doing it Right" & "Never Start".

This weeks track is from a French DJ that I've followed for what feels over 10 years now & its an absolute goodie! Wrap your eyes & ears around it below:

Pedro Winter also well known as Busy P, is a French DJ/music producer/artist manager & record label owner. Over the years of listening & being a lover of dance music I've known Busy P very well from his own management label ED Banger Records. Fun fact but between the years of 1996 to 2008 he also managed Daft Punk.

Ed Banger Records Label is well known for its artists such as Breakbot, Feadz, Justice, Krazy Baldhead, Mr. Flash, SebastiAn & Uffie. Ever since high school I've been a fan of these artists & have always found that the French were always ahead of us when it came to the dance music.

Busy P's latest single “Genie” featuring vocals from Mayer Hawthorne was released on the 24th January this year following after the recent release of his EP "Still Busy EP".

Put on your dancing shoes, as this track is an absolute banger & what a fantastic artistic direction!

Cheers Amy
