Back to reality, oops there goes gravity! Back to work this week after the festive season & also uni begins again this week (5 more weeks of this semester! then I've literally got a few weeks till my last semester starts in March. WOW!) Not entirely sure still what day it is, but the break between Christmas & New Year has been absolutely lovely. It's not often that you get given lots of time to sort yourself out for the New Year. So I made sure to clean my room to make room for the new!
Being only a few days into the New Year, I've also easily stuck to my resolutions - most importantly the one to be happy! I've been swimming in the pool most days too & going for walks so I aim to keep up being healthy too - Mums even joined me with FebFast this year! So bring it on! The beginning of the year is always a great excuse to go through things & I feel as each new year comes along I get slightly more organised!
I'm still yet to vote in the Hottest 100, I've been delaying it as the choices will be tough this year. There has been so much talent & so many songs this year that I had a chance to obsess over. I've been digging a lot lately through my regular playlist so throughout the break (especially whilst studying) I've been listening to Tove Lo, The Beatles, The Darkness, Illy, Seth Sentry, Digitalism, Jarryd James, Darwin Deez & The Jezabels.
This weeks track is a grand one! & a song that for the past few weeks I've been getting hooked to. The band will actually be releasing their forthcoming album in the next few weeks. Wrap your ears around it below:
The xx are an English band that formed in 2005 in Wandsworth, London. I was lucky in 2009 at Laneway Festival to see the XX perform & even now with this track they still exert a dreaminess in their music style. The band's third studio album "I See You" will be released on 13 January 2017 - think I'll be making a trip to shops soon!
Hope this track, helps to carry the dream like Christmas/New Year state that we are all in, I know where I'd rather be right now - floating in my pool!
Hope the New Year is good to you all!
Cheers Amy
