Can you believe it's 5 days till Christmas! Compared to last week I've finally started to feel that little bit extra festive. I guess it has helped that the whole of last week as well as this week I've been non-stop listening to Christmas songs! It's always been a lovely tradition but whether its putting up the tree at home or putting the speakers on at work it's nice to know at this time of year there's all types of songs to bring back out & dance to! Everyone has a favourite whether its a cheerful one, sad one, nostalgic one &/or rocking one. I guess if you compare it to other holidays in the year this is the only occasion where we technically have particular songs to listen to & Christmas/ New Year always brings varying emotions along with it.
Well even more amazing, but I've managed to get all if not most of my Christmas shopping done last night straight after work! Looking back at previous Christmases I've always been semi organised or it goes to the other extreme of disheveled late night shopping/panic. Well this year the future is now! I did my shopping literally in one night, got everything I needed & even with all my shopping bags I caught an Uber home! Easy peasy!
So the silly season has officially begun, I've got a consolidation week from Uni & combine that with a week off for the holiday period - it's party time! I had my first weekend of slight freedom & it was nice to not stress about uni. Every year before Christmas my cousin's family come over for a BBQ & a swim - water was amazing! (& I'm still the tallest!) Sunday, & for what seems like ages I hit the Ivy Courtyard party to get my techno on with my mate Grace & her bf Blair. It was loads of fun & feels like ages since I've boogied through the day! The party feat; Justin Martin, Tube & Berger, Miguel Campbell & Teenage Mutants - & we literally got our techno/house on!

Get excited also but next year in April I'll be dancing to Illy when he hits the Enmore Theatre next year. He will be headlining & performing alongside Spit Syndicate, Paces & Maribelle. I believe tickets are still selling, you can check out the details here. I'm looking forward to a year of gigs next year with also Laneway Fest & Porter Robinson/Madeon in February!
So this week's track is an absolute Christmas cracker #madpun & this year I've decided to go totally funky with a classic! Wrap your ears & your presence *haha on a roll* around this track below:
Boney M is a Caribbean vocal group created by German record producer Frank Farian. Originally the group was based in West Germany, the four original members are Jamaican-born singers Liz Mitchell, Marcia Barrett, Maizie Williams & Bobby Farrell. The group was formed in 1976 and achieved popularity during the disco era of the late 1970s.
Special mentions do go to my close 2nd favourite "Fairytale of New York" - By The Pogues, which due to Christmas I'll share this track too!
Wishing you all a Wonderful & amazing Christmas & an even more amazing 2017! Be safe & enjoy time with your family - you've worked your butts off all year so enjoy!
Cheers Amy
