Hard to believe that it's my final week of uni holidays before I start the new semester again next week, & to much excitement that means my uni results also come in this week. To my utter surprise the results came through a day early & were sent direct last night. Very happy to say that I received a Pass in Integrative Marketing Comms & to even greater surprise a Distinction in Integrative Business Practice!! I can now say I've got 4 subjects left before I graduate!!
I'm definately feeling more rested than I did a few weeks ago, mad to believe that the uni break is almost up. I've tried to not go too crazy as the last thing I want is to get fluey! I've managed to watch more TV, go out in the sunshine, get more sleep & catch up with friends. I even got to see another live gig last week through a friend of a friend.
I've been given a stack of old CDs this week from Dad as a neighbour of ours is moving out, so I'm still working through that haul but so far it's definately quite a mix/ blast from the past. I've got PNAU, Bang Gang Deejays, LCD Soundsystem, Rod Sanchez, Trance Anthems, Mylo, Xavier Rudd & The Beautiful Girls etc. Most CDs that I have never owned either, or had one or two tracks from within my playlist.
Still needing to take a trip to JB, I've curated another wish list. But have also decided at some point I will be culling through my collection. I love collecting CDs, & having the tangible record in your hands. I think the reason I don't go digital is due to the special attention that goes into CDs; the album artwork & the detail especially that goes behind the artist story. After a while, I understand that CDs can take up some space & there is quite a number of CDs that I no longer listen to which I will need to cull & then who knows down the line someone else will pick it up & hopefully feel the same as I did when I listened to it.
Wishlist
Tourist - U
Babymetal - Metal Resistance
Broods - Conscious
This week I have also been listening to Broods, Alex Lahey, Tourist & Courtney Barnett. I look forward to it, but within the next week I'm hoping to see Alex Lahey live in Newtown & also since a few weeks ago I've been obsessing over Broods so they are probably the artists I've listened to lately.
This week's track I've been meaning to share for a couple of weeks now
You can wrap your ears around it below:
In another lifetime,
I will never change my mind,
I would do it again Ooh,
A thousand times
Just to let you in here
Where you make me lose my mind
In another life I'd do it all again
A thousand times
Only released a few weeks ago, Jarryd James an artist from Brisbane teamed up with my favourite duo Broods creating this new single "1000x". Well known for his tracks "Do you Remember" & "Give me Something" he has spent time in LA to work on a couple of new singles as he preps for hopefully an upcoming album.
Jarryd James supported Broods back on a 2014 tour & will repeat the feat for an upcoming trek of the US.
This cute number has had me singing along for the past few weeks & I'm hooked. The lyrics are gentle but moving, there's just something about it that gives me goosebumps.
Hope you all have a great week!
Cheers
Amy
