It was quite a quick week after the long weekend, before I knew it was Wednesday then it was already the weekend again! I'm almost halfway into my uni break, amazing how quickly this year is going! Well I've been listening to the music haul I got from JB, I've had more of a chance to listen to Boy Noize (his sound has changed slightly, but I could even say enhanced is a better word) I've also had a chance to listen more to Ladyhawke's album "Wild Things" & I'm really digging the video game sound throughout her tracks. In between that this week I've been listening to Broods, Catfish & The Bottlemen it's so nice to have new music on my playlist!
This weekend that just past we had a visitor, my friend Kirsten who I met on my travels to Europe a few years ago. We did all the touristy stuff, checked out Vivid, ate our way through the weekend with lots of dessert & also a spot of shopping! Vivid was lovely, it's nice to head down that area with all the touristy stuff, Sydney is a very pretty city.
Speaking of tourists, there's this track I've been obsessing over for at least a month now, every time I hear it I feel like I can achieve anything. Check it out & shimmie below:
William Phillips known best as "Tourist" is an electronic musician & songwriter. Cool fact in 2015 he won the Grammy Award for Song of the Year for co-writing "Stay with Me", along with James Napier and Sam Smith. Recently releasing his debut album "U" earlier this year there are a couple of great tracks on there. Will definately be buying his album!
The music video is also very interesting, I think what drew me to it was the emotions, that feeling of exhilaration. It's simplistic & concise, you hear Run & really that's all you want to do. It makes you want to run, want to get your heart rate going, feel the wind through your hair, that freedom.
To me it seems like a track that could work well if there was an extended mix, I love when its get to the trancier bit & that part I want to continue for at least another minute or two. Ah well a girl can dream! What a track, I'm obsessed!
Cheers Amy
