Well I'll get the obvious out of the way, today it's my birthday! I'm 26 & still don't feel any different. But am definately feeling the love today! Feeling slightly overwhelmed & grateful for the family & the friends that feel like family I wouldn't be the person I am today without you guys! So as a "treat yo self" today there is no uni work, no stress, just laughs, food, hugs, good times, music & maybe some cake!
So this week's a short post & this week's track is a BIG favourite from way back, as almost every year it's spun. Check it out & boogie to it below:
Stevie Wonder is hands down & I mean hands down my Dad's all time favourite upon favourite artist & is actually a major part of my musical growth. I have many fond memories of Dad belting Stevie Wonder tracks whilst getting ready to go out or him singing them out loud if given a microphone. Funnily enough part of Dad's homework last week was Stevie Wonder's first few albums "Music of my Mind" & "Innervisions" but I know there are so many of his albums to work through! "Happy Birthday" was a song written by Stevie in 1981 as a single & is from his album "Hotter than July". The story behind the song was Stevie Wonder was fighting for Martin Luther King day to be a public holiday in the US. Martin Luther King day would represent Dr. King's dreams of integration, love & unity within the world.
I'm a lover not a fighter, so I agree wholeheartedly that the world needs peace & it's only the actions of us individuals that can make the world a better place.
Now let's eat cake!
Cheers Amy
