I've decided today that I'm going to deny that Summer's over. First of all thanks to uni I could only say on two hands is the number of times that I got the chance to be out in the sun, head to the beach or go for a swim. I'm in denial as well because either Summer went too quickly or once again I never had much time to appreciate it. It's mad to believe that today is officially the first day of Autumn. I don't see the effects of Autumn happening too soon either due to Climate Change but eventually as time goes by the weather will soon get cooler & the leaves will start to turn brown.
As much as I'm in denial Autumn is secretly my favourite time of the year, it's not too hot & it's not too cold, I can wear my jeans & rock out my parka then as it gets closer to winter beanies & ankle boots you name it! Also during Autumn it's my birthday, can't not get excited about that! Well I've had another week of uni holidays & its just been amazing, I've not bought any more CDs but I have lately been listening heaps to Best Coast, Frightened Rabbit & Rufus.
So to say goodbye to Summer, I thought this week we should end it on a high, with some good ol garage surf rock. Check it out below:
The Jensens are a five piece band from Brisbane, first established in 2013 & Well known actually for their garage pop sound. Their uniqueness is catching onwards & upwards through the Brisbane music scene & as of a week ago they've released a new track called "A New Hope" which just proves that The Jensens are still on the rise & hopefully soon to release more new tracks.
"Fears" was released in 2014 & mad to believe but this summery track's music video was filmed within a clothesline full of fabric! The fabric is actually being spun around them & it's filmed purely off a GoPro. I heard of "The Jensens" after hearing their first single "Shark Thunder" on Triple J maybe over a year ago. Originally their tracks were uploaded to Triple J Unearthed until their song "Shark Thunder" was given airplay & since then their tracks have always been a great jam to listen to on a Summers day. So hold onto Summer, this track will keep you warm in the meantime.
Cheers Amy
