Chronicles of a Fallen Love - The Bloody Beetroots & Greta Svabo Bech

Music is love

Love is music

I don't think there is ever a day that I don't listen to music, whether its on the bus to work or heading home, when I'm on my way out to meet friends or on weekends spinning various CDs in my livingroom when the parents are out. Music just makes you feel really good on the inside & out.

What I love about music, is it just seems to have a way of playing with our emotions, songs can make you happy or sad, excited or nostalgic but most of all it fills a gap & makes us feel. Last week I got the opportunity to purchase David Bowie's final album "Blackstar" I wasn't quite sure how to feel throughout the whole album as I knew he was gone. David Bowie was introduced to me when I was 14, Dad was watching a recording of David Bowie & the Spiders from Mars concert & then a few weeks later my school choir was learning "Changes", I asked Dad if I could borrow & my knowledge of his music & career began from there. Sitting & listening to his album it then reminded me what music is all about; sitting & letting it reach your heart. Music can also speak when you can't express how you feel or want to feel & thats probably one of my most favourite things about music.

This week we celebrate Australia Day & my all time favourite radio station Triple J like every other year holds "The Hottest 100". The Hottest 100 each year counts down Australia's favourite 100 songs; 8 glorious hours of music! Usually my Australia Days are spent with the girls listening to the countdown & having a laugh, but today I'm actually off to North Sydney with a friend to see a couple of DJs (These DJs haven't been in Australia for a couple of years & it was too good to miss!)

This week's song is inspired by one of the DJs I'm super excited about seeing again later today! Wrap your ears & dancing shoes around it here:

The Bloody Beetroots are an Italian electro house and dance-punk formation established in late 2006 by Bob Rifo, known professionally as Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo. "Chronicles of a Fallen Love" came out in 2013 through Ultra Records & as you can clearly see from the music video its about lost love.

Remember the way you used to dance Then I remember that you will never dance again Now you're fallen, I'm falling with you And with us, our blood, our love Our heartbeats used to move in time They've slowed down, left us behind This is the story of a fallen love

Fallen love

I became aware of the Bloody Beetroots during the myspace days, it was early 2007 when I came across "Let your Washing Machines Speak" & I've never looked back since. There are too many songs, Dimmakumunication, Cornelius, We Are from Venice, Black Gloves & Warp 1.7 to name a few. As a set they're so energetic, well known for their black spiderman masks & getting the crowd to jump & dance. Should hopefully be a good afternoon! Have a good one!

Cheers Amy
