Do it Again - Röyksopp & Robyn

This past week has been a mixture of study & fun, on Monday I submitted my first assessment for one of my subjects & then the rest of the week consisted of treating myself for finishing it as well as catching up with all my other uni notes. Just in time for the festive celebrations I've found out some excellent news, with the Xmas period approaching the week after this is considered a "catch up" week & then the following fortnight is mid-sem uni holidays which means between the 14th Dec till the 4th Jan I'm free! Which means if I play my cards right I can use the "Catch up" week to work on my upcoming assessments/ notes & actually have time to enjoy a lovely & festive Christmas & New Year! woo hoo!

On Tuesday I finally got a chance to check out the last part of the movie series; The Hunger Games (as quite a fan of the books, it was good to keep an open mind) but it was definately worth the wait & anticipation! I'll try not to drop any spoilers, but yes it was amazing. It still amazes me that the fandom had lasted nearly 4 years & has now finally it has come to a close. When the credits rolled up the screen I had similar emotions to that of the Harry Potter series. I guess now there is a sense of where to next? & who knows what fandom will show up next! Thursday afternoon I found out the most amazing thing, The Bloody Beetroots are returning to Australia next year for a 2016 Australian tour! I've been a fan of the Bloody Beetroots since the days of Myspace, (10 years!) & they are an italian duo who can easily melt your face with techno, here is one of my favourites from them --> here.

I bought tickets to The Bloody Beetroots for Australia Day next year, as its the first time that they have been back to Australia in 3 years & totally worth it! I still have fond memories of Creamfields 2010 where my two mates helped me secure the front row! Though I had been patient in previous years as there were at least 3 occasions where their shows hit capacity/sold out or in 2009 they performed a secret show in Oxfords Arts off Oxford St (which I missed due to the club hitting capacity before I had even finished work that day!) That Creamfields gig has definately been placed in my top 5 gig moments, I had made a shirt especially for the day & I danced my absolute heart out. The next morning I had bruises on my ribs & wrists due to everyone dancing & jumping about - good times!

This week's track is another song thats get me dancing no matter what mood I'm in & you can wrap your ears around it below:

This song was collaborated between my absolute fave Dancehall Queen Robyn & Norwegian electronic artist Röyksopp. The pair collaborated previously in 2009 releasing "The Girl and the Robot" & "None of Dem" in 2010.

Robyn is one of my biggest fangirl artists, I think she is an absolute legend & I've been following her for almost a decade too! I was lucky to see her at her only show in Sydney at Parklife 2012 (in previous years that she's visited Australia I wasn't old enough to see her!) She's just the kind of artist that is not only known for her songs but her awesome dance moves on the stage. Late 2013 Röyksopp and Robyn announced plans to embark on a joint tour titled "the Röyksopp & Robyn Do It Again Tour 2014" where they performed across Europe and North America & this song & a few others were born.

I almost had the opportunity to see Robyn again perform at Falls Festival 2014/15 she was also to be the artist to bring us into the New Year at Marion Bay but unfortunately due to personal issues she was unable to make it to Australia in time. (Hoping any day now for a new tour to be announced to Australia, as she is due for a visit!)

"Do It Again" is such a super catchy dancey song & every time I hear it, it just makes me want to dance. "Do it Again" is a whole range of emotions, the song reminds me of love & the motions you go through when in love with someone whom you should or should not be with. Bascially when you meet someone that is so good & maybe bad for you at the same time, where you know you should pull away but secretly you want them to make you feel the way you did before again & again.

We do what we want,

and as soon as it's done We just do it again Let's do it all,

and when we come down We just do it again Don't care what they say,

it hurts so good I don't wanna stop,

I know I should

This track should get you dancing through the rest of the week!

Cheers Amy
