Never Ending Circles - CHVRCHES

So its exam week! The tensions are slightly higher & after a long weekend of study & revision; I'm ready to kick arse! In preparation for the studious long weekend ahead, early last week I went to the cd store & gathered quite a CD haul. Music seems to be the best motivator when it comes to studying, I always have it on in the background (always try to make it not too distracting; depends on the artist really) Then on study breaks I can turn it up louder & choose a song to dance & chill to. Music for me is the best stress reliever (other than bubble baths, margaritas & puppies) whenever I feel worked up or stressed out I put on a cd & guaranteed by the 3rd song I'm jumping around pumped. Especially after a big day, I love nothing more than to put my headphones on as I make my way home; public transport gets slightly better with music.

On the 25th September, CHVRCHES released their well anticipated second album "Every Open Eye" & like many others I couldn't wait to start listening to it. CHVRCHES are a Glaswegian Electronic trio & after the success of their first album "The Bones of What You Believe" released in 2013, this album has been an excitable 2 year wait. They are also one of the top 5 bands that I've wanted to see live for the past few years (Finally seeing them at Laneway Festival next year!) Alongside last Tuesday's CD haul I also purchased "Nothing to Do" by Bleeding Knees Club (three-piece garage rock band from the Gold Coast, Australia) a highly recommended track is "Teenage Girls", "Short Movie" by Laura Marling (to get me even more prepped for her gig in the next few weeks) & lastly "In the Silence" by Asgeir (Crowned Icelandic's newest Jonsi, his soft tones & falcetto are just gorgeous) was very lucky to see him perform in Australia at Falls Festival 2014/15.

"Every Open Eye" is such a magical second album from CHVRCHES & this is where inspiration for this weeks track has come from. I've been listening to this album ALL OF LAST WEEK & most of my long weekend. "Never Ending Circles" is the grand entrance track that draws out attention almost instantly. You can shake your shoulders to it here:

Other notibly awesome tracks to pick out from "Every Open Eye" is "Clearest Blue", "Leave a Trace" & 'Get Away" all of those songs have the capabilities to get the feet moving & the hands clapping. Honestly the whole album is such a treat! My blog this week will unfortunately have to be short & sweet as I really really gotta study! haha priorities!

Cheers Amy
