House Every Weekend - David Zowie

My good friend & musical counterpart Shell Heaven Lee has nudged me for years & years to start something magical. Now if you don't really know me or haven't guessed I'm quite the fan of music. To put it simply I'm a toe tapping, knee slapping, shoe shuffling, double clapping lover of all genres & there is nothing I enjoy more than shutting my eyes, putting my headphones in & letting the music take me where it wants to. Just over the past weekend I had a discussion with a friend about the language of music. It's just fascinating & will always bewilder me how each of us who come from many different parts of the globe can listen to music & just completely understand. Humans crave connection & music is the few things in life that can bring us all together & let us share emotions.

Now that we are in Spring, you can already feel the warmth creeping past Winter. You can already feel it around you that everyone seems quite keen to brush the cold off their shoulders & look towards the sunny days ahead. To celebrate this excellent time of year & the enthusiasm that Spring brings to us, every Tuesday from now on I will post a track that I would love to share with you all.

When my alarm goes off in the morning its the radio on my bedside table & last week for the first time in ages of snoozing...I found a track that got me jumping out of bed. The first track I want to share with you all is a track by David Zowie called "House Every Weekend". David Zowie is a British DJ from Chatham in Kent. His song "House Every Weekend", which topped the UK Singles Chart in July 2015 & in the process became the first song to do so on a Friday. (Wikipedia 2015). So shake shake shake shake your shoulders! Can you believe it?! We're in Spring! You can listen to it here:

The first time I heard this track, I jumped out of bed & flung open my curtains. The sun was already up & it felt nice to feel the warmth so early in the morning. No more foggy windows or dark mornings, its the first time I felt truly awake.

Now the first thing I can say about this song is its got SASS, it instantly gets you in the mood to booty shake, shuffle your shoes or bop your head. The lyrics tell us about something we all probably have experienced ourselves. David Zowie is trying to whisk us away from becoming stuck in the same old rut; routine. When did people become so comfortable with doing nothing on weekends? The weekends are our only time to truly live & live by our own rules. So what are you waiting for?

Cheers Amy
